The Consequence of Bad Habits

Do you have trouble on: Liking things while knowing it’s bad? Whether it’s doing, listening, talking, watching, or even smelling, you could say (LOL).

Without God, at the very end, it is all bad or wrong.

Why?

Because we are inconsistent. Inconsistency, to me, is technically hypocrisy or lack of firm values. It results from a lack of faith.

James 1:6-8:

“But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive anything of the Lord. A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.

Inconsistency in Life

We are so inconsistent that we are like a light switch.

  • Through time, the light switch goes to

    “on” or “off”

    —meaning it flips or changes.

In life, changes happen. For humans, these are controllable.

The problem is: Where is the limit that marks or considers control or uncontrollable?

It depends on the person.

Example:

  • I can watch a TV show an episode a day (if I have the time) and move on.

  • For others, they do a

    binge-watch for hours.

Uncontrolled Areas:

Now, my uncontrolled area was video games.

  • I could play for an hour and be fine, but I decided not to.

  • Before, I was

    grinding

and wanting to get that sweet, powerful gun or have the most kills or wins.

See the inconsistent objective of my reasoning for gaming?

Hell, I even was looking for joy and fulfillment.: Joy comes from within—you, from the inside.

  • I used to play just

    out of boredom.

  • I was programmed to play non stop. It was a habit, normal.

Reflections on Habits and Choices

As a habit, I had a lot in mind to do new things—to hang out, buy new things, or just spend quality time with family and friends.

But I never took the risk or chance to do new things or just simply do it.

If I don’t have self-control, then there is a problem. Even eating or drinking more, than you can, its’ a sin.

  • You eat too much, damage your body.

  • You smoke too much, damage your lungs.

  • You talk too much and end up

lying or making unnecessary problems and so on.

Coming Back to the Start

Now, I come back where I started.

We always do the wrong as we don’t have God.

When you have God, you pray before you do something. He then talks to you, depending if you read the Bible and know it.

Lastly, if you have Him, He will convict you with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will talk to you according to what you know from the Bible.

None of this happens if you don’t want to do the right and believe it.

If you try and want him to change these bad habits, he will let you, if you allow him to work, which is not easy since we may be attached to that habit or hurt from it.
