Challenges as a Christian in Modern Society

Hey! I want to talk about a problem many Christians face today in an evolving society.

I feel a little vulnerable writing this, but I will proceed for the sake of truth.

Living in a World Without God

For both new and old Christians, it is difficult not to live or behave like those without God.

We see:

  • People without God being

    aggressive

  • People fighting, killing, and hating

  • People feeling

    no guilt

    due to

    pride or ignorance

I try to avoid trouble and be careful not to act the same way which is really difficult.

My Christian Journey

To explain why:

  • I gave my

life to God at 15 years of age

  • I have remained

    on His path

  • As I was always told:

I prayed for wisdom daily.

That is what kept me on the right path.

Gaining Divine Wisdom and Purpose

I didn’t reach the divine wisdom until age 18-19, but I began to understand human behavior and sinful nature.

I realized:

“Everything we do is technically wrong— but with God, it becomes better.”

At age 21-22, I adjusted to wisdom and began finding my purpose.

Ironically, God had already told me my purpose when I was 16-17.

**I had to go through challenges to understand people, so I could become a leader and example, teaching that anything is possible with God."

Struggles with Sin and Understanding Love

At times, I have struggled with the desire to give up. Wishing death from time to time, I still do in some sense. (Am NOT Suicidal or do no Self-harm whats so ever) What I can say its I get sorrowful and grief for all of us with this wicked nature of ours.. The thing is understanding the sinful nature and trying to stay away of that nature hurts a lot. You know it all yet you feel powerless, useless. The thing that helps me is writing and composing my experiences along with the bible, which is what am doing. AKA Preaching.

I have even questioned God:

“If You hate sin and I am a sinner, yet I preach something I struggle with, doesn’t that make me a liar? Isn’t lying a sin?”

Then, I began to understand: The problem isn’t just sin— it’s about learning the true nature of love.

1 Corinthians 13: The Essence of Love

1 Corinthians 13 explains what true love is:

  • Love is

    patient

  • Love is

    kind

  • Love

    doesn’t envy

  • Love

    doesn’t boast

  • Love is

    not proud

  • Love

    doesn’t dishonor others

  • Love is

    not selfish

  • Love is

    not easily angered

  • Love

    keeps no record of wrongs

  • Love

doesn’t delight in evil but rejoices in truth

  • Love

    protects, hopes, and preserves

  • Love never fails

Jesus, the Ultimate Example of Love

The perfect example of tolerance and love is Jesus:

  • He healed the sick
  • Forgave the wrongdoers
  • Died for them, for you, and for me

Before I truly understood love, I asked God to help me be like Jesus.

I fail many times, but I always go back to follow Him.

Why?

Choosing Love Despite Persecution

Because I have discovered love, I want you and others to see it too.

This means I will be:

  • Shouted at
  • Cursed
  • Betrayed
  • Used
  • Humiliated
  • Persecuted

But I choose to continue because I see this as planting a seed.

I hope to see it grow and bear fruit.

The Purpose of Love

Whether I see it happen or not, as long as it happens, then my purpose is Fulfilled.

Love Tolerates

Example:

At work, I have to tolerate my coworkers’ wishes— even if I don’t agree with them.

  • Not going to lie

    , my

    natural instinct

    is to

    oppose

  • Arguing and overriding others is easy

, but I stop and ask:

    “What would Jesus do?”

Jesus would listen, talk, and express His point of view. If there is no agreement, He would humble Himself and remain firm in His truth while still allowing time for discussion.

If the disagreement escalates to violence, He would physically separate Himself.

Love, Tolerance, and Faith

Tolerating and Hoping in Love

Since things are not happening as expected, I will do what I can—tolerate, hope, and talk.

The silly situation at work is not a big deal, but for some random reason, it feels like it.

Yet, I won’t let it be a big deal because it’s not worth it—because I love them.

Following Jesus’ Example

If Jesus is love and perfection, then by following Him with my actions, I am embodying Him.

“The Word became flesh.”

The Word is Jesus, so if I live by His teachings, then I become more like Him.

Because I love Him, I love you.

If I love you, then I love myself— which aligns with the first two commandments:

  • Love God
  • Love your neighbor as yourself

If I focus on keeping these two active by actually living them out, then I fulfill all commandments.

“I love you, but He loved me and you first.”
